Registration Options

Registration Fees and Deadlines

There are two categories of registration: Early-Bird and Standard Rate.

Members of AMM, MAAM, MPMA, SEMC, WMA, CLHO, or MAM receive the NEMA member rate.

*This special rate is available to anyone who’s experiencing a financial or health hardship as a result of the pandemic. We ask that only those who really need assistance take advantage of this offer.

**Please note the one day rate is only available to NEMA members.

 


Scholarships and Fellowships
Thanks to the generosity of sponsors, several scholarships and fellowships are available to help make the NEMA conference more affordable.  The deadline for all scholarships/fellowships is October 23, 2020. Only one application is necessary to apply for all scholarships and fellowships. You will be notified of the final award decisions in early November. Click here for complete details.


What does my registration include?

Your registration will give you complete access to the conference platform, app, and related networking events. You will also have access to session recordings up to 3 months after the end of the conference. Day registrations will only have access to the day registered and recordings for that day.


What happens after I register?
After you register, you will receive an email with detailed instructions on how to connect to the conference. Please note this may arrive a few days after you register.

ONLY those who register will have access to the virtual platform. If you don’t register, you cannot access the platform. Make sure that the email address associated with your registration is accurate and up to date so that there is no delay in receiving our communications or logging into the virtual platform.


Speaker Rates
NEMA appreciates its colleagues who participate as panelists and speakers. If you plan to attend the conference beyond the session in which you're participating, we offer a significant discount on registration. Only attending your session? We ask that you still register for the conference. Just select the "attending my session only" option and the registration is free.
Full Registration: $50
One-day Registration: $40


Group Rate
NEMA member museums can send 5 or more employees and save 25% off the full conference member rate! Contact the NEMA office at conference@nemanet.org to register. Please note that the discount only applies to the full conference member rate.


Exhibitor Registration
Is your company a vendor in the exhibit hall? NEMA extends conference registration to two company representatives with an exhibit booth.

Why do you charge for your conference?
We recognize that many people in our museum community have experienced financial adversity this year, so our goal is to make the 2020 conference affordable to everyone regardless of their financial circumstances. Our registration rates are based on the following:

  • We spoke to dozens of NEMA members over the summer about how we should charge for conference. Many told us that the NEMA conference is their most important source of professional development and that they are willing to pay a fair price for it. Our registration rates reflect the quality of the program (60+ sessions over a full week) and hopefully the value you will get out of it.
  • Even a virtual conference takes hundreds of hours for our four-person staff to coordinate and produce so that it results in high standards and value. The NEMA conference accounts for more than 50% of our annual budget, which helps fund our ability to support our year-round mission and advocate for the field. Like many non-profit organizations, NEMA has been impacted financially this year. We are YOUR museum association and need revenues to continue our work on your behalf.
  • Our rate structure makes it affordable for everyone to attend the conference. Plus, we are offering scholarships to ensure that the conference is accessible to all.


Registration Policies
You may transfer your registration to another person at any time prior to conference. Please email the NEMA office with the name of your replacement. Once the conference begins, you cannot transfer or share your registration.

Registrations may not be split among multiple people.

One-day registrations may not be split between days.

Sorry, we are unable to accept purchase orders or government training vouchers.


Cancellation Policy
If you need to cancel your registration, we will provide a refund (less a 25% processing charge). We must receive your refund request in writing no later than November 6, 2020. After that date there are no refunds. Refunds will be mailed after the conference.
