January Lunch with NEMA

WHEN:  Wednesday, January 29, 2019, Noon- 1pm
WHAT: In a Mission Focused Institution -- Everyone is a Fundraiser
WHO: Joseph April, Director of Development, Strawbery Banke Museum
FORMAT: Webinar

The common perception is that if a museum staff member is asked to help with fundraising, it means literally asking for a prospect for a  gift... which is a daunting (and often frightening) request, In reality, there are many ways how non-development staff at a museum can play an active and critical role in securing philanthropic support, which ultimately supports museum programs and activities  This session will outline simple and specific ways everyone at a museum can make a difference in fundraising beyond being the person asking for the gift.

The presenter will articulate specific phases in the "Giving Cycle" including identifying prospects, opening doors for the fundraising staff and being the "content experts" showcasing the organizational mission. Using a case study from Strawbery Banke Museum where museum staff are assisting the Development Team in a $25 Million Campaign.
