Activate your galleries with poetry! Regie Gibson and Brooke DiGiovanni Evans will discuss the MFA, Boston’s partnership with Mass Poetry in Fall 2018 to bring poets and poetry into three special exhibitions. Brooke will share program goals, logistical challenges and opportunities, and the visitor’s response. Hear Regie’s perspective as a visiting poet, performer, and teacher. Discover concrete tips on how you can implement this in your museum.
Brooke DiGiovanni Evans is the Interim Director of Learning at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. She has worked in many areas of museums including education, curatorial, and exhibition design. In addition, she is currently serving on the Board of Directors for NEMA and is past president of the Museum Education Roundtable Board of Directors. She is a part-time faculty member at Northeastern University’s College of Arts, Media and Design.
Literary performer, Regie Gibson, has lectured & performed in the U.S., Cuba & Europe. Representing the U.S., Regie competed for & received both the Absolute Poetry Award in Monfalcone, Italy & the Europa en Versi Award for performance in LaGuardia di Como, Italy. He is a Brother Thomas Fellow and has served as a consultant for both the National Endowment for the Arts “How Art Works” initiative & the “Mere Distinction of Color”: an exhibit at James Madison’s Montpelier examining the legacy of slavery & the U.S. constitution.
