The Birds of Vermont Museum houses a unique collection of over 500 wood carvings of Vermont's nesting and migratory birds (and a few others). Most carvings were completed by Bob Spear, a retired, quiet, self-taught naturalist whose vision turned into a one-of a-kind Museum in Huntington, Vermont. Each bird is displayed diorama-style in typical habitat. Changing special exhibits showcase conservation science work, birds in other media, and children's work.

The Museum’s 100 acres were designated an Important Bird Area in 2004 and offer easy hiking trails through forests and meadows, home to wild birds, butterflies, and aquatic animals. Special presentations, bird festivals, carving classes, local artist exhibits, and children’s programming are offered indoors and out.

The Museum is open 7 days a week from May 1 – Oct 31 and by appointment at all other times.
