Black River Academy Museum is the Alma Mater of President Calvin Coolidge, Attorney General John Garibaldi Sargent, Publisher Abby Hemenway and many other notable alumni.
Today, this unique Richardsonian building embodies the cultural history of the Black River Valley through instruction in traditional crafts, lectures, work with local school students, small theater productions and three floors of exhibits, which include an Early Victorian/American house, Main Street Ludlow Circa 1900, Calvin Coolidge's Schools, a Barns of Ludlow exhibit, our Finnish Exhibit, a one-room school house and our Military Exhibit that encompasses the Civil War, WWI and WWII.
