The Bristol Art Museum (BAM) is one of the oldest and most beloved cultural institutions in the Rhode Island's East Bay, thanks to the stewardship of our dedicated volunteers. For more than 50 years, these individuals mounted their exhibits in the borrowed ballroom of the Linden Place estate, giving their community an intimate glimpse of renowned artists.

In 2015 the Board completed an award-winning restoration of the historic Linden Place Carriage Barn, establishing a permanent home for the museum.

That was a watershed moment in BAM’s history. Now thriving in its new home, the Bristol Art Museum has more capacity to realize its vision to engage the wider community. Three galleries on the first floor display five exhibits each year. The second floor accommodates four artist studios and a community room for classes, workshops, lectures and artist talks.

Our mission is to encourage the creation, promotion and appreciation of the arts through exhibitions and educational opportunities. Community outreach programs and partnerships are central to our goal of engaging diverse audiences in the arts of our time. Our aim is to enrich the cultural life of the community and region through diverse exhibitions and educational programs, and to be an accessible presence for future generations.
