Museum Profile
Edward Gorey House
The Edward Gorey House celebrates and preserves the unique life and works of Edward Gorey, American author, illustrator, playwright, set and costume designer. The House, owned and lived in by Gorey himself, displays his diverse and extraordinary talents, and reflects his very distinct personality with both permanent and changing exhibits.
The House also honors Gorey’s concern for both local and national animal welfare issues as well as being a facility for youth literacy programs and outreach events aimed at growing the love of language and the written word. We strive to educate, inspire and entertain our visitors — our goal: to offer a unique and evolving perspective on Edward Gorey, the artist and the person.
