The Franklin Historical Museum preserves and displays artifacts from Franklin's History from pre-colonial to present day. Franklin was established in 1778 and is the first town to be named after Benjamin Franklin. Our most famous son, Horace Mann, was the first Secretary of Education, and is known as the Father of Education. Learn all about him when you visit. We have an extensive Military exhibit including artifacts and uniforms. Our exhibits and displays highlight our history, our schools, our churches, our factories and the people who lived here and made Franklin what it is today. Visit us soon.
