Golden Ball Tavern Museum
Built in 1768 by prominent Weston resident, Isaac Jones, the Golden Ball Tavern Museum tells the story of loyalists in the American Revolution and six generations of the Jones family. The Tavern operated as an inn from 1770 to 1793 and played a pivotal role in the unfolding of the Revolutionary War during which time Isaac was accused as a traitor, his house raided and ransacked by patriots with painted faces, and the Tavern was briefly the base for British spies. The house was occupied by six generations of the Jones family and our rooms are filled with Jones family treasures. Come and explore this unique Revolutionary era house and tavern and hear our stories including that of the ‘spies who went out in the cold”, the “other” tea party and the eventful visit of Paul Revere’s men.
The museum holds Second Sunday Open Houses on the second Sunday of each month from 1-3 p.m.
