His visits to this mansion, owned by his cousin Susanna Ingersoll, inspired him to write the classic novel, The House of the Seven Gables in 1851. Uncover the fascinating story of Hawthorne’s life and writings while visiting his birthplace, built about 1750 and relocated to this site in 1958.
