Museum Profile
Institute for American Indian Studies
The Institute for American Indian Studies shares the voices of Native American Indians past and present. Through our research, education programs, exhibits, publications, special events, and Gift Shop, we focus on the diversity, traditions, and cultures of the Algonkian-speaking peoples from our region, as well as highlight Native American groups from across our continent. Visit us for a school field trip, drop by to enjoy our beautiful 15.5 acres and museum exhibits while visiting Connecticut's lovely Northwest Corner, or join us for an engaging program! We are a place where people of all backgrounds can study, explore, learn, and engage with the rich diversity of Native cultures - while reflecting upon the world today and looking towards the future. Native contributions, struggles and stories are part of America's past, present, and future.
