COME FOR INSPIRATION

Founded in 1987, the New England Quilt Museum is the only museum in the Northeast dedicated to promoting the art and history of quiltmaking.

Visitors experience world-class exhibitions that explore the artistry, history, and significance of quiltmaking, past and present. Housed in an 1845 landmark building, the Museum is conveniently located in the heart of Lowell’s inviting historic district and vibrant creative community. The entire Museum is wheelchair accessible.

Changing gallery exhibitions feature the innovative works of prominent quilt artists from across the country and around the world, as well as historical themes highlighting the most important and beautifully preserved antique quilts in America.

A selection of the Museum's renowned permanent collection of nearly 500 quilts is always on view and changes periodically.
