The Saint Albans Museum was founded in 1966 as the Saint Albans Historical Society, and is dedicated to preserving and sharing the history and heritage of northwest Vermont through educational programs, exhibitions, and performances. We feature three fully accessible floors of exhibits and displays in our historic facility (a former schoolhouse, built in 1861 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places) for guided tours and special events. SAM is a non-profit supported by our members and friends. Our charming and historic Bliss Room, overlooking Taylor Park, is available to rent for wedding receptions and special occasions. Our current exhibits include:

- Military Room (Vermonters in conflict from the Revolutionary War to today)
- Railroad Room (Central Vermont Railway and history of the "Rail City")
- Diorama Room (St. Albans Raid and Life in the 1860s)
- Historic Classroom
- Smith Room (about a family of Vermont politicians, entrepreneurs, and philanthropists)
- Women's Realm (award-winning women's history exhibit)
- Medical Room (history of medicine in the Green Mountain State)
- Displays dedicated to local businesses and organizations, area artists, sports, our community's French-Canadian heritage, and more!
