Tantaquidgeon Museum
This unique museum houses a collection of objects makde by Mohegan and other Native American artisans. Artifacts include splint baskets decorated with woodland designs, carved bowls and utensils, mortars and pestles as well as stone tools, arrowheads and wampum items. In addition there is a fine collection of Native American objects from the Plains, Southwest and many other areas. The village features a traditional-framed wigwam and longhouse, herb garden and dug-out canoe. Free admission, groups (over 8) by appointment.
