The accredited Wenham Museum, a designation given only to 6% of museums nationwide is a donor and visitor-supported 501(c)(3) nonprofit institution founded in 1922. The museum’s mission is to protect, preserve, and interpret the artifacts of childhood, domestic life, and the history and culture of Boston’s North Shore. Wenham Museum was recently named by readers of Wicked Local online Best Museum and Best Local Gift Shop 2015. It is a family-friendly museum of childhood and New England life. Visit the museum’s model train gallery, world-renowned doll collection, vintage dollhouses, an interactive family gallery, extensive costume and textile collection, antique toys, historical photographs, and special exhibits and family programs. The historic Claflin-Gerrish-Richards House c. 1690, located on the museum’s grounds, offers tours upon request.
