Wistariahurst is dedicated to preserving the history of Holyoke and inspiring an appreciation of history & culture through educational programs, exhibits & special events.

Wistariahurst is the former home of two generations of the Skinner family, manufacturers of nationally renowned silks and satins, and prominent residents of Holyoke. In 1959, Katharine Skinner Kilborne, the youngest daughter of William and Sarah Skinner, and her heirs donated Wistariahurst to the City of Holyoke to be used for cultural and educational purposes.

Today we tell the stories of Holyoke's past by means of tours, lectures, school programs, group programs, and our research archive. We host concerts, performances, and other cultural events throughout the year. Our beautifully restored gardens are perfect for a picnic or as the backdrop to a special event.
