The Wood Library and Museum holds an Annual Gingerbread House Festival, this show opens Thanksgiving weekend and runs thru mid December every year. Over the years the event has grown into one of the largest Gingerbread House Festivals and Displays in all of New England, with approximately 100 artistic creations on display. Last year, The Wood provided the perfect venue for showcasing the sugary architecture and played host to over 6000 visitors from all over the region, firmly establishing its status as a holiday favorite and a must see event. This year’s festival will continue the tradition with local artisans and bakers, both expert and beginner alike, showing off their creative talents in an incredible array of candy covered houses, historical replicas, and in some cases, entirely edible villages. The holiday event will also feature select musical performances and decorating demonstrations providing patrons with an uplifting and creative break from the hustle and bustle of the season. The spicy aroma of gingerbread will be heavy in the air and “Ye Olde Gingerbread Shop” will offer patrons the opportunity to take home a bit of the magic with a variety of baked goods and holiday themed gift ideas!
