Katherine French, who has led a revitalization of the Framingham museum and school Danforth Art since becoming its executive director in 2005, announced that she plans to retire on Jan. 1, 2015.
H. Nichols B. Clark, The Carle's chief curator and founding director, will be retiring at the end of this year after more than 13 years of service to the museum.

After a remarkable career of over 40 years, Bruce MacLeish retired in August from his position as Director of Collections at the Newport Restoration Foundation. Bruce taught for almost twenty years at the Cooperstown Program and served as the Collections Manager for the New York State Historical Association and the Farmers Museum. He worked at the Restoration Foundation for the last sixteen years where amongst many other achievements, he transformed the Newport home of Doris Duke from a private residence into one of the premier house museums in the New England region.
After fifteen years as executive director, Flavia Cigliano will retire from the position March 31, 2015.

Richard "Dick" Ruehrwein
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of long-time NEMA member and supporter, Richard "Dick" Ruehrwein of Creative Company. Many of you have met Dick and Lillian in the exhibit hall during the NEMA annual conference. Dick's love for writing led to his life's work as the founder and artistic director of Creative Company. Dick imagined, wrote, edited and published hundreds of books. His work can be found in National Museums, Historic sites, Zoological Gardens, and Presidential Libraries nationwide.
