The Board of Trustees and Native Advisory Council announce Cinnamon Catlin-Legutko’s departure as CEO after ten years of leadership. She has accepted the position of executive director at the Illinois State Museum in Springfield, IL.

Robert Wolterstorff appointed the Susan E. Lynch Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer. Wolterstorff’s appointment follows the retirement of Peter C. Sutton, who served as the Executive Director for eighteen years.

Leah Niederstadt promoted to Associate Professor of Museum Studies & Curator of the Permanent Collection in the Department of Visual Art and History of Art.
Sara M. Bogosian, President and Executive Director, as well as Nancy and the late Richard K. Donohue, Chairmen, were recipients of the Lowell 100 Honoree Medal, bestowed by International Institute of New England to honor 100 individuals in Lowell who have done outstanding works in their fields to help Lowell’s vibrant immigrant community.

Eleanor Freda “Pretty Flower” Spears Dove, age 100, the eldest member of the Narragansett Tribal Nation, of Arcadia Road in Richmond, Rhode Island made her journey to the spirit world on July 13, 2019 encircled by the love of her family in her home. Eleanor stood as a matriarchal pillar within her community. She was a long-time supporter of the Tomaquag Museum, providing a home to the museum in 1969 adjacent to the then renowned Dovecrest Restaurant, owned by Ferris and Eleanor Dove. The Tomaquag Museum partnered with the restaurant on events and thanksgiving celebrations in the 70s and 80s. Even after the closing of the restaurant, Eleanor Dove continued to support the Tomaquag Museum. Without her efforts, the museum may not still be here today.
