New for 2017: The Creative Corner
Unwind with your colleagues between sessions and let your creative side breathe! Join us in the exhibit hall for a drop-in art lounge experience, and find out how to set up similar events at your museum. Thanks to our friends at 42 Design Fab, this will be one special space!
Crafting Amnesty Corner
Unfinished embroidery, half-purled sleeves, and abandoned sketchbooks rejoice! Bring that poem, bracelet re-stringing, or other project with you and relax in the company of your creative colleagues as you finish that last inch or twelve of stitching. Don't have an unfinished craft to carry along? Paper and drawing supplies will be available for new projects, too.
Adopt A Project
Bring a project you know you'll never finish, and offer it up for someone else to take home! Or, swing by to see if there's a project just waiting for you to adopt and make your own.
Supply Swap
Leftover beads or a skein of yarn from a project you've finished? Paints from that class you took and never went back to? Knitting needles you've stabbed yourself with one too many times? Bring them along and trade them for that tool or tidbit you've been looking for to finish one of your own projects.
Conference Ambassadors
Need help finding your way? Look for one of our Conference Ambassadors. They're the ones wearing the cheery yellow buttons and an equally cheery smile. They'll be glad to help!
Scholarships
NEMA is pleased to offer several scholarship and fellowship opportunities to make the annual conference more financially accessible. Scholarship awards support travel, lodging, and three-day registration for individual members of NEMA and employees of NEMA institutional members.
Click here for complete details. The deadline for all scholarship programs is September 15, 2017.
Only one application is necessary to apply for all scholarships and fellowships. Note: Individual opportunities have slightly differing requirements in the essay portion of the application. You will be notified of the final award decisions in late September. In the event that your application is unsuccessful, you may still register at the early-bird rate at any time before conference.
